Ah...dear John. Don't think I ever stopped laughing with John, full of life, fun and good spirits. We kept in touch after high school, and later met up in San Francisco. John "came out" in SF and I used to "hang" with him around Castro Street. Gay men and straight women agree on one thing: men!
He and his partner, Ernie, gave me a place to stay when I was first settling in SF, and were always there as good brothers to me.
John passed away in the early 1980's after a long illness, one of many good souls who lost their lives to a terrible disease.
What a shock to hear that John had passed. John, I will always remember our friendship in Madrigals and honor choir. You were one of my best friends at La Canada, and I always valued your friendship. I know that God is taking good care of you, and I also have faith that you are still a screwball in heaven!
