Yet another dear friend from junior high and high school who passed way too soon. I was honored to serve as one of her bridesmaids at her wedding in 1977 - actually a double wedding as her sister was married at the same time. We were quite a crowd in Church of the Lighted Window!
I recall Jessica and her husband moved to a suburb of Las Vegas, and she served as a flight for life nurse. She died at age 27 or so during a helicopter flight, with a team traveling to an emergency situation.
Jessica was the first of my close friends from school who left us too early. Perhaps that's why I've been reluctant to attend our reunions as my closest friends passed long ago.
Jessica was one of my best friends at Oak Grove. We started out in Blue Birds together. Jessica, Jolana Ramsey, Susan Rittscher, Bonnie McKinnon, Ellen Rollins and I were known as "The Friendly Bluebirds" . Her wedding was stunning. She was a beautiful bride. When she died, my Mom called me sobbing about the Bluebirds. Mortality became a reality then.
