40th reunion

Hello fellow Spartans :)

I have been hit up to put together  what could possibly be our final reunion...the 40th.  So before I commit to anything I'd like to get some feed back from as many of you as possible.  I'm starting with La Canada Country Club for the venue.  It's not necessarily cheap, but it is convenient.  They want around $50 a head for just a finger foods and the room, drinks would be an additonal cost to each of us.

It is my personal opinion we don't need a sit down dinner or an all weekend ordeal.  I think most of us truly enjoy the cocktail parties we have had  in the past.  It will be up to the classmates if they feel their spouse needs to come or not.  On that note tell me what you think and by all means anyone who would prefer to organize the reunion instead, please speak up.  Like I said, I don't even know if I am into doing this in the first place.

Take care everyone :)

Maryann, Maybe a poll of interest would help plan or not plan this event, How about if everyone replies with a ""hell, no. I won't be there!'  or a " I'll think about it and let me know possible dates" It is difficult to find the right size space for this gathering if you don't have an idea of how many could be attending. Hi Mary Ann,

I agree with Julie.  Could we send out a poll asking:

1. Will they be attending?

2. Where would we like the reunion to be held (Pasadena area, Queen Mary, Northern CA, Napa, etc...

When we get an idea of how people are coming and where the majority would like to have it, then we can start looking for a venue.

I for one, am looking forward to the reunion where ever we hold it.

Thanks,

Ken

I'm curious to know if anything concrete has developed with regard to the 40th reunion.  I had a great time in Pasadena at the 35th and am willing to fly out from Israel, but I need enough time to make plans & get vacation from work, since I usually take 3 weeks when I travel to the US.  Thanks to all who are taking part in the planning.

Looking forward to seeing everyone,

-Beth Safian

I would attend and think that the reunion should be more than just the one night. I liked our traditional cocktail evening and then full dinner the next night. That way, more people might be able to participate. When traveling from out of state, it's nice to get more time to visit.

I believe first we need to poll our class to see where we are with attendence. After we know the numbers we plan the event. My opinion is many of us have family ,or friends still in the La Canada or the San Gabrial valley area,This allows anyone coming from out of State, or out of the USA to see others. It really is not very expensive to have a Coctail Party or a social evening followed by a Family day at the park. Not a fan to have a sitdown dinner, most are catered that means over priced and not great quality. I would rather keep it simple for the reunion. If we want to meet friends for a meal that can be planned between friends. Just my thoughts. I look forward to the reunion whatever decision is made.
